General Gerber Construction’s reputation has been built by providing a high level of personal service and professionalism. It is the result of delivering successful and quality projects on time and within budget for many years. We take as much pride in building strong relationships with our customers as we do in building their projects.
What We Do:
Commercial: From churches, retail stores and car dealerships to warehouses and schools, the General Gerber Construction team has made its mark as a dependable and quality minded builder who focuses on satisfying the client’s goals.
Multi-family: We’re proud of our numerous condominiums, town homes, and duplexes that so many people now call ‘home’. We know that the quality of our work impacts other’s quality of life, so we combine our professional construction management techniques with the finest craftsmanship for exceptional results. We build them as if we’re going to move into the home.
Structural Repair: Cracked and/or sinking foundations, damage resulting from water and other natural causes create the need for repairs no building or homeowner wants to confront. When these unfortunate situations arise, General Gerber Construction can help.
We understand why structural problems occur, and we look at all the possible solutions to fix them. We work with reputable, licensed structural engineers to ensure the repairs will permanently take care of the problem(s). We combine our experience with new technology to make structural repairs as cost effective as possible for our clients.
Residential: Whether it is ground-up construction or remodeling your existing home, we take pride in doing the job right the first time. We have many satisfied clients that have trusted us with their most prized asset, their home. From design to completion General Gerber will get the job done.
How We Do It:
Design Build: Design-Build is a method of project delivery in which one entity (design-builder) forges a single contract with the owner to provide architectural/engineering design service and construction services.
Construction Management: In Construction Management (CM) we enter into a contract with the owner prior to the bidding period and act in an advisory role. Bids are taken under our supervision, but separate contracts are let for each phase directly between the contractor for that phase and the owner. When bids are received, as the CM we will evaluate them and recommend that one be accepted or that the phase should be modified and rebid.
When the construction begins, as the CM we will coordinate all work on the site to coincide with the agreed upon schedules, budgets and quality standards. We recommend corrective procedures and job changes that we feel are necessary, but our decisions are subject to the approval of the architect and the owner.
Consulting: As a consultant, General Gerber Construction gives the owner options. The owner will make all decisions. The ultimate responsibility for investigating the subcontractors and suppliers, and making a final decision as to whom to use, rests with the owner. Since the owner is taking on the role of the general contractor, and all of the risks, the fee charged for consulting services is considerably less than when we act as the general.
General Contractor: As a General Contractor General Gerber Construction contracts in the ‘traditional’ design-bid-build approach. In this case the owner engages an architect or engineer to prepare drawings and specifications under a design contract, and subsequently selects a general contractor by competitive bidding, or negotiation, to build the facility under a construction contract. As the general contractor we hire subcontractors and vendors necessary to complete the project.
